Sweet and Sour Fish

Ingredients

Making the marinade

  • 400 g Cod Fish fillet fish of your choice!
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Salt

Making the sauce

  • 1/4 cup Garlic Chilli Sauce Brand used: Maggi
  • 1/2 cup Chilli Sauce Brand used: Maggi
  • 3/4 cup Water ½ cup if you like to make the sauce slightly thicker
  • 1 tbsp Sugar

Remaining ingredients

  • 1 whole Onion
  • 1 whole Bell pepper used the red pepper
  • 5 slices Pineapple diced this into cubes
  • 1 tbsp Cooking oil

Instructions

The marinade

  • Rinse fish fillets until dry
  • Add turmeric and salt to the fish fillets and marinate/mix them well
  • Deep fry the marinated fish fillets with medium heat until they turn light golden brown

The sauce

  • Sauté diced onion and pepper with one tablespoon of cooking oil
  • Once sautéed, add ¼ cup of garlic chilli sauce and ½ cup of chilli sauce to the wok
  • Add a tablespoon of sugar to the sauce and let it simmer for about 3 minutes.

Finally, the sweet and sour fish dish itself!

  • Add the deep-fried fishes and sliced pineapple to the sauce. Let it cook to simmer for about 10 minutes and you’re done!
