Roti Kirai (Net Pancakes)

Ingredients

  • 200 g Plain flour any other choice of flour is good too
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
  • 60 g Full Cream (Susu cair) Alternatively, you can use coconut milk
  • 200 g Room temperature water
  • 2 Eggs

Instructions

Making the batter

  • Add in the dry ingredients together first: flour, salt and turmeric.
  • Add in the wet ingredients together: Egg (whisked), water and full cream.
  • Combine all ingredients together until smooth and silky.

Making the kirai pattern

  • Transfer the mixture into the nozzle bottle and gently squeeze out the mixture on a non-stick frying pan. Ensure that it is on medium heat.
  • Once the mixture slowly hardens on the pan, fold it into half and half again to your preferred size and shape.

Finish

  • And voila! Serve it on a plate alongside a bowl of hot curry chicken or beef!
